Manchester Airport Drop-Off Charges 2026 (and How to Avoid Them)

Manchester Airport went fully barrierless in March 2025 and the system tightened further with new car park names in March 2026. The system catches your number plate on entry and exit, you pay online by midnight the next day, and a £100 fine arrives if you forget. Here is exactly what each option costs in 2026 and how to avoid the charge entirely if you have an extra few minutes.

The forecourt drop-off charges

The forecourt drop-off directly outside Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 costs £5 for up to 5 minutes, £6.40 for up to 10 minutes, and £25 for 10 to 30 minutes. Maximum stay is 30 minutes. Stay longer and you face a £100 PCN with £70 debt recovery on top. The clock starts the moment your number plate is captured at entry and stops at exit. There are no payment machines or barriers – everything happens via ANPR.

Free for one hour at JetParks 1

The free drop-off zone is at JetParks 1 on Thorley Lane. Up to 60 minutes is free. A complimentary shuttle bus runs every 15 minutes, 24/7, taking 5 minutes to T2 or 10 minutes to T3. From entering the zone to walking into the terminal, allow about 20-30 minutes. Stay longer than 1 hour and you pay £25.

How to pay (you have to do it yourself)

Visit pay.manchesterairport.co.uk, enter your vehicle registration, view your visit, and pay by debit or credit card. You can also call APCOA on 0345 901 3318. Payment must be made by midnight the day after your visit. There are no on-site machines and no email reminders. The simplest way to never miss it is to set up an AutoPay account on the same site – it links your number plate to a card and charges automatically. Free to set up.

The pickup zone is different (and they catch you)

Picking up in the drop-off zone is a £100 charge – the ANPR system tracks dwell time and direction of travel, so trying it does not work. The proper pickup is at the T2 Multi-Storey, which charges £6.40 for up to 15 minutes or £8.30 for up to 30 minutes. Visitors who overstay the 15-minute limit at T2 Express Pick Up incur a £60 overstay charge. Same payment rules apply: pay online by midnight next day or face a PCN.

No-return rule: £25 if you re-enter

Re-entering any drop-off zone within 30 minutes of leaving triggers a £25 re-circulation fee. The system catches you whether you re-enter the same forecourt or any other drop-off zone. So if you forgot something and have to come back, expect £25 on top of whatever you pay for the second visit.

Blue Badge: free if it is the passenger

Blue Badge holders can use the forecourts free of charge – but it must be the travelling passenger who holds the badge, not the driver. Show the badge to a traffic marshal on entry. Failure to notify the marshal means standard charges apply, even if a Blue Badge is in the car.
