Manchester is the North of England largest airport, with two active terminals (T2 and T3) and the most competitive parking market outside London. JetParks 1, 2 and 3 give the cheapest official long-stay rates in any major UK airport, off-airport operators along the A538 and A6 add aggressive competition, and the multi-storey close-in lots are a real option for under-24-hour trips. This guide is the front door to every Manchester parking option, with the rules that move the price most and links to our deeper guides.

The terminal layout

Manchester runs T2 and T3 (T1 retired in 2024). Most carriers concentrate on T2; T3 hosts a smaller mix of low-cost and regional. Inter-terminal walks are short, but parking is priced by terminal so picking the right one matters.

  • T2: Most international long-haul, all easyJet, most Virgin/BA, KLM, Lufthansa, Singapore, Emirates short-haul.
  • T3: Ryanair, Jet2, TUI, some easyJet routes, Aer Lingus.

Check your terminal on your booking. Walking between T2 and T3 takes 6 to 10 minutes via the Skylink covered walkway.

The five real Manchester parking products

  1. Multi-Storey close-in. The covered car parks attached to T2 and T3. 2 to 3 minute walk to check-in. Premium-priced (£140+ per week) but zero shuttle.
  2. JetParks 1. On-airport long-stay closer to terminals, 5 minute shuttle, 24/7. Park Mark accredited.
  3. JetParks 2 and 3. Further-out on-airport long-stay, 10 to 15 minute shuttle. £8 to £15 a week cheaper than JetParks 1.
  4. Off-airport Park and Ride. Privately operated sites along the A538 and A6. Variable price and frequency.
  5. Off-airport Meet and Greet. Drive to the terminal forecourt, hand over keys, walk in. Zero shuttle either end.

The £6 drop-off rule

Manchester drop-off forecourt is £6 for up to 10 minutes, payable online by midnight the day after your visit (ANPR enforced). For the full breakdown including the per-minute escalation and the free Long Stay alternative, see our Manchester drop-off charges guide.

The rules that move the price most

  1. Book 4 to 8 weeks ahead. Walk-up rates are 30 to 60% more expensive at every Manchester product.
  2. JetParks 2 or 3 over JetParks 1. The further-out lots are £8 to £15 a week cheaper, the shuttle is 5 to 10 minutes longer, the gap is usually worth taking.
  3. Non-Flexible tiers. 20 to 30% cheaper if your dates are firm.
  4. Multi-Storey trap. £140+ a week is intentionally punitive past 24 hours. Use only for genuine day trips.
  5. School holiday spikes. Half-term, Easter, summer and Christmas lift every product 15 to 30%.

Which product fits your trip

Day trip or 24-hour business

Multi-Storey. £30 to £45 for 24 hours, you skip both shuttles, arrive at your car already at the terminal.

2 to 5 night break, family

Off-airport Meet and Greet. The 30 to 45 minute saving on a tired return leg with children is worth £20 to £35 over JetParks. Pick a Park Mark operator.

1 to 2 week holiday, couple

JetParks 2 or 3. The 10 to 15 minute shuttle is fine when well-rested, and the per-night rate beats every competitor. Single-supplier accountability with the airport itself.

Late-night return (post 23:00)

Off-airport Meet and Greet. JetParks shuttles run 24/7 but late-night queues build, particularly on the JetParks 1 to T2 route. Meet and Greet skips it entirely.

Long stay 3+ weeks

JetParks 2 or 3 again, or an off-airport long-stay specialist with a flat weekly rate ladder.

Common Manchester parking mistakes

  1. Booking Multi-Storey for a week. Hourly rate is punitive past 24 hours.
  2. Picking JetParks 1 by default. JetParks 2 or 3 is cheaper for almost every trip.
  3. Wrong terminal car park. T2 and T3 have separate close-in Multi-Storey lots.
  4. Walking up without pre-booking. 30 to 60% price gap.
  5. Not checking Park Mark on off-airport. Manchester has the largest off-airport market in the North; quality varies.

The honest one-line answer

For most Manchester travellers, JetParks 2 or 3 booked 4 to 8 weeks ahead is the right combination of price (£35 to £55 a week) and shuttle reliability. Off-airport Meet and Greet wins for families on short trips. Multi-Storey wins for 24-hour business.
