- Multi-Storey (T2/T3): 2-3 min walk, the priciest, best for <3 nights.
- JetParks / official long stay: 5-10 min shuttle, good for 3-7 nights.
- Off-airport Park & Ride: from £4.50/day, 5-15 min shuttle, wins for 7+ nights.
- Meet & Greet: from £8/day if you want zero shuttle.

Compare Manchester parking →Manchester Airport has the deepest competitive car-park market in the UK. Five distinct product types fight on price, distance, shuttle time and flexibility, and the cheapest headline rate is rarely the right pick. This guide is the side-by-side feature comparison, not a current-year price roundup, for the latest prices see our 2026 price guide.
The five real product types at MAN
- Multi-Storey (close-in). The covered car park attached to T2 and T3. 2 to 3 minute walk to check-in. Premium-priced, but the only option with zero shuttle and zero exposure to weather.
- Official JetParks 1. On-airport long-stay with a 5 minute shuttle, 24/7. Operated by MAG. Genuinely competitive on weekly rates for Manchester scale.
- Official JetParks 2 and 3. Further out on-airport long-stay, 10 to 15 minute shuttle. Cheaper than JetParks 1 and often cheaper than off-airport competitors.
- Off-airport Park and Ride. Privately operated sites along the A538 and A6. Frequent shuttle, often the cheapest weekly headline rate, quality varies by operator.
- Off-airport Meet and Greet. Drive to the terminal forecourt, hand over keys to a uniformed driver, walk in. Zero shuttle time. Premium-priced but the time saved is real for short trips.

The Park Mark column matters. It is the UK Police Crime Prevention Initiative accreditation for safer parking. Every official MAN product carries it. Off-airport operators vary, we flag Park Mark status on the listing card for every car park in our marketplace.
Walk versus shuttle: the real time cost
Headline shuttle times underestimate the real return-leg cost. From the moment you pick up your bag at MAN baggage reclaim to the moment you start your engine, the realistic times are:
- Multi-Storey: 5 to 10 minutes (mostly walking).
- JetParks 1: 15 to 25 minutes (shuttle wait, shuttle ride, walk to car).
- JetParks 2 or 3: 20 to 35 minutes.
- Off-airport Park and Ride: 25 to 45 minutes (longer shuttle wait at night).
- Off-airport Meet and Greet: 5 to 15 minutes (the driver brings the car to you).
At 23:00 with sleeping children, those differences are not abstract.

Which one fits your trip
Day trip or one-night business
Multi-Storey wins. The premium for 24 to 48 hours is small in absolute pounds, you skip both shuttles, and you arrive back at your car already at the terminal. Tax-deductible for most business travellers.
2 to 5 night break, family of four
Off-airport Meet and Greet usually wins on total experience cost. You save the family roughly 40 minutes on a tired return leg, and the absolute price gap to Park and Ride is typically £20 to £35.
1 to 2 week holiday, couple
JetParks 2 or 3 is usually the right answer. The 15 minute shuttle is manageable once well-rested, and the per-night rate beats every competitor.
Long-stay, 3+ weeks
JetParks 2 or 3 again, or an off-airport long-stay operator with a flat weekly price ladder. Per-night rates flatten significantly past 14 nights at most operators.
Late-night arrival (post 23:00)
Multi-Storey if budget allows. Off-airport shuttle frequencies drop after 22:00 and the wait can be 20 to 30 minutes in poor weather. JetParks 1 maintains better frequency than the off-airport sites.
Special-needs traveller
Multi-Storey or Meet and Greet. Neither involves a shuttle bus with steps, and both leave you at a known-accessible drop-off point.
What we do not include in this comparison
- Hotel-and-park packages. Useful for some travellers but priced as a hotel product, not parking. Compare separately.
- Public transport drop-off. Worth it for couples with light luggage. Not really a parking option.
- Valet at terminal kerbside. A subset of Meet and Greet, covered above.
Three booking rules that beat the headline price
- Book 4 to 8 weeks ahead. The cheapest window across all MAN products. Walk-up rates are 30 to 60% more expensive on the same day.
- Pick the right flexibility tier. Non-Flexible or Saver tiers are often 20 to 30% cheaper. Choose this only if your flight dates are firm.
- Check both terminals. The Multi-Storey at T3 and at T2 are priced separately and the difference can be £10 to £25 per week.
