Of the meet and greet services we sell at Birmingham Airport, Platinum Valet's Larger Vehicle option is the one set up for vans, pick-ups and other vehicles longer than 4.8 metres, and its price for eight days is in today's list below, against £59.43 for the cheapest meet and greet for a car (checked 7 November 2026). Platinum Valet has to agree to your vehicle before you book, so this page explains what counts, how the check works and what happens at the airport.

Which vehicles count as larger?

Anything longer than 4.8 metres that you drive on a standard car licence, with up to 8 seats. Platinum Valet gives pick-up trucks such as the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux, and vans like the Ford Transit Custom, as examples. If you are not sure of your vehicle's length, it is in the handbook or on the manufacturer's specification sheet for your model.

How do you book parking for a larger vehicle at Birmingham?

  1. Open Platinum Valet Larger Vehicle, put in your dates and tap Book.
  2. Leave your name, phone number and your vehicle: the type, make and model, its length and its height.
  3. We check with Platinum Valet and call you back.
  4. Once Platinum Valet says yes, you book and pay as normal.

We work with Platinum Valet directly, so the question goes straight to the people who will be moving your vehicle.

What happens when you arrive at Birmingham Airport with a van?

The same as for a car. Call Platinum Valet 30 to 60 minutes before you get to the airport, then follow the signs for Valet Parking. A driver meets you there, checks the vehicle in and gives you a receipt, and you walk into the terminal. Your vehicle is kept on Platinum Valet's secure, manned site, which has 4K CCTV and holds the Park Mark award.

Coming home, call the number on your receipt when you land, about 30 minutes before you reach the Valet Parking area, and the vehicle is brought back to the same place.

What should you sort out before you set off?

  • MOT and road tax. Both must be valid: Platinum Valet turns away a vehicle without them, and there is no refund.
  • Keys. Hand over the vehicle key only, not house keys or other fobs.
  • Valuables. Take them out of the vehicle before you hand it over, tools included.
  • Your return time. If you come back later than booked, Platinum Valet charges £25 for each extra day, collected before the vehicle is returned.
